I'm very impressed with Ron and Tim's observations. Way to go guys!
I hope others will attempt these challenging targets. And southern
hemisphere observers need to take advantage of the fact that their
star is relatively easy to observe!

I like the idea of using a refractor. Just be extra careful with the
flat fields and maybe stick with V instead of B since some refractors
may cut off part of the B leading to a nonstandard response. Also
remember you can defocus easy in a refractor to allow a longer
exposure.
