SIMBAD gives 80607 a V mag of 9.07 so I would suggest that for
starters...Ron

Hi, guys.
The literature values are somewhat ambiguous due to the proximity to HD
80606.
But I wouldn't rely straight on the SIMBAD values for photometry.

The Hipparcos Catalogue lists V= 9.17 but this hasn't been obtained directly
from the Hp magnitude and colors, possibly because the contamination between
the two stars. Hp is 9.394 which would be V= 9.25.
SIMBAD values always seem to be similar to Tycho.
Tycho gives V= 9.06 and B-V 0.82.
Tycho 2= V= 9.07 and B-V 0.87.
The best values specially with a double like this one has to be found from
ground-based observations:
The y (=V) magnitude from the GCPD is 9.147 with a b-y of 0.472 that would
be B-V around 0.77.

For HD 80607, Hipparcos gives V= 9.06.
Tycho= V= 8.92 and B-V 0.75
Tycho-2= V= 9.00 and B-V 0.78.
Form the GCPD the y mag is 9.002 with b-y 0.470, so the same color as the
comparison star.

>From the photometry available before the campaign, the best data available
is:

HD 80606= V= 9.00; B-V= 0.77
HD 80607= V= 9.15; B-V= 0.77

But of course, this will be improved now that everybody will be observing
this pair.

Cheers,
Sebastian.
