Keith, Do you vary your method if the exposures in the series aren't
spaced evenly?

The time recorded in the FITS header of images in Maxim is the time at
the beginning of the exposures. In determining the time of exposure when
stacking images using Maxim, I use the following procedure:
1. Note the times of the first and last images in my series.
2 Add the exposure duration to the exposure time in the last image. 3.
Determine the time midway between the starting time of the first image
and the ending time of the last image as the time for the stacked
exposure.
