Hello Roger
Nice list at http://www.britastro.org/vss/variable_star_section_ccd_target.htm.
One of the entries in the BAA.VSS CCD Target List is
Precision Differential UBV Monitoring of SS Cyg
requested by professionals (similar like JM is doing
it right now with U Gem).
Hello Gary
Basically most of the EB and RR Lyr stars could be used
for 'practicing' by a beginner and they will get a ToM as
'gratification'.
But there is sometime an extra kick (like the Blazhko effect
of RR Lyr stars, flares with EB YY Gem, superhumps with
SU UMa stars, ..., requests byprofessionals) that will keep
them motivated to do more.
Clear skies
Wolfgang
