 Hi, all. Thursday, December 9 we will be opening a chat room on the
AAVSO web site. Anyone with a web browser can stop in to chat with
other AAVSO members, observers, friends, staff, etc.

  The chat room will be open all day Thursday (UT) to allow people
from all over the Earth to chat at a time of their convenience.
  This will be the first test of a concept I'm calling "AAVSO
Thursdays" . I hope to have the chat room open every Thursday and on
days of special events (AAVSO open houses, big announcements, etc.).
   We tried something similar last week with the High Energy Network
and Photometry discussion groups to great success. 34 people visited
at various times of day and we had a peak of 12 at one point. New
friendships were made and good discussion had by all.
   So come by and pay us a visit!
