All,
Sorry, I should have prefaced all this with a hearty "THANKS" as the effort and time are greatly
appreciated. I wasn't presuming the page was wrong. In my case, operator error should be the first
five possibilities on the list before checking the code.
Arne,
>From the input screen:
"Observer Longitude dd.ddd or dd mm ss. East is negative"
So I left it positve. Colorado IS _west_ of Greenwich, right?
Aaron,
The format sample gives the double slash between date and time, so that's why I put it there:
"JD or yyyy/mm/dd//hh/mm/ss"
The result you got is even more incorrect (AM = Airmass 2.85891). The asteroid was nearly on the
meridian at upper culmination and so about 5-8° from the zenith
I took Arne's suggestion and changed the longitude to negative. The value is 1.2, which seems a bit
off from what I was getting otherwise but I may not be remembering the exact RA/Dec correctly (I
know the time was 0600 UT as I had intended going to bed an hour before and didn't until four hours
later).
Clear Skies,
