[Aavso-photometry] Thursday online chats?

Join me on #aavso on IRC tomorrow for general AAVSO chat. I will
login around noon eastern (16 UT) and try to stay online the rest of
the day and evening. Obviously I won't be focused on the chat room all
day but will check in from time to time to see who is there and
partake in any discussion going on.
I would like to use this as a test of the concept. If it works,
then we may start an "AAVSO Thursdays" program where AAVSO members can
join the chat room on Thursdays for discussion of any type. If we
have enough interest tomorrow then I'll setup a dedicated AAVSO server
so we won't have to use others. I'll also promote it to the public via
general discussion group, web site, etc.
I notice that the web based IRC client seems to be working again.
So here are some brief instructions on how to use it:

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) can be accessed via the web at this URL:
 http://chat.efnet.org/irc.cgi

Just type in your nickname (such as your AAVSO observer code) and
click LOGIN. After you are logged in, type:

/join #AAVSO

Then you'll be in the AAVSO channel. It operates in CB-style. Type in
some text and press enter. It will be broadcast on the channel. Type
/help for help options.

 "Talk" to you tomorrow!

The nerd was kissing the homecoming queen. Paper was beating scissors;
scissors were beating rock. Charlie Brown was kicking the football. The
Red Sox were beating the Yankees for the American League pennant."
